You’ll Never Be Left Out in the Cold
Insuring a snowmobile means you are protected against property damage and medical expenses. Make sure you are not vulnerable to out-of-pocket expenses in the event of an accident while enjoying the snowy trails.
Understanding Snowmobile Insurance
There are many winter wonderlands to explore on your snowmobile, so make sure you’re covered wherever you ride. A standard Snowmobile Insurance policy covers injuries and damages to the other party if you’re in an accident that you caused. However, any injuries or damages you incur will not be covered unless you have also added Collision and Comprehensive coverage. Sometimes accidents happen, but you don’t have to be left out in the cold when you have the right coverage.
What Does Snowmobile Insurance Cover?
This covers physical injury to the person of a Third Party. This includes sickness, disease, pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of income and even death.
This coverage pays for damage or destruction including loss of use of a Third Party's property. Reduction in value is the measure of property damage.
Collision coverage pays for damages upon impact with another vehicle, object or person outside the vehicle, and the upset (overturning) of such vehicle. This coverage is often subject to a deductible.
Comprehensive coverage pays for direct and accidental damage to the insured's automobile other than that caused by a collision. All losses not specifically excluded are covered and such coverage is usually subject to a deductible.
A carrier may offer Guest Passenger Liability as a separate coverage, which would cover injury to a passenger in an accident which was the fault of the operator of the snowmobile the passenger was riding.
This provides coverage for the operator and passenger(s) of a vehicle when injured in an accident which is the fault of someone that carries no insurance or not enough insurance. It covers bodily injury and may cover property damage depending on the state.
This is an optional coverage that pays for the medical expenses of the named insured, members of his/her family, and passengers of his/her vehicle if injured in a collision accident. The named insured and relatives are also covered if struck as a pedestrian. This coverage is excess to any other medical insurance.
